The international services of the city of Kuusamo offer support, advice and guidance to foreigners who have moved to Kuusamo for various reasons in order to promote integration and settlement.
The purpose of settlement services is to offer guidance and counseling to people who have moved to Kuusamo from abroad for study or work or are planning to move and their family members, taking into account the customer’s personal life situation, and to support settlement in a new society and city.
Customers of the integration services are refugees, people who received a residence permit through the asylum process, people who moved to Kuusamo due to family reunification, and people receiving temporary protection who received a residence municipality label.
We offer advice, support and guidance for settling in and adjusting to your new hometown and society. In addition, we prepare initial surveys and integration plans for customers. The integration services of the city of Kuusamo are governed by the law on the promotion of integration, and the integration program of the city of Kuusamo.
You can find us on the 1st floor of the Kuusamo town hall, the employment service center Kieppi’s premises. Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm with an appointment and without an appointment on Wednesdays from 1 pm to 3 pm.
